Beyond the Algorithm
Clinical Reasoning in adult Emergency Medicine

At Emergency Medicine Courses, it is our vision to provide integrated up to date education programs for medical and nursing staff with the aim of improving clinical emergency care at the bed side.

The course content will explore the detail “beyond the algorithm” with a focus on clinical reasoning to allow participants to develop a greater insight and understanding of why we do things, not just how we do things in Emergency Medicine.

Participants will be encouraged to develop the knowledge and critical thinking skills to help them feel confident to manage both common and complex conditions in adult patients that present to Emergency Departments, General Practice, and rural Emergency Centres.

EM Course is approved for the purpose of CPD as an Education Activity for 27 hours (ACEM) and 19.75 hours (ACRRM).

What is EM Courses?

The Emergency Medicine courses are innovative and interactive 3 day courses that explores the clinical reasoning and current evidence based approach to assessment and management of common Adult Emergency Medicine conditions.

The Faculty is composed of experienced Emergency Medical and Nursing faculty, Physiotherapy and multi-disciplinary subspecialties.

The courses include case studies, exposure to a wide array of clinical material including X-rays, ECGs, clinical photographs and videos.

The Emergency Medicine Course is designed to enhance the knowledge and experience for clinicians who work in mix ED/adult ED, General Practice and rural Emergency departments. We have identified a big knowledge gap for clinicians who start working in a new busy and fast paced department. The EMC Course has been designed just for you and will be delivered by a faculty of experienced Emergency Specialists, that will meet this specific need.

The Emergency Nursing Course is an innovative and interactive 3 day course that aims to take your acute adult skills to the next level. After seeing a growing demand for high quality nursing education, we have formed this new course!
The ENC Course has been designed just for you and will be delivered by a faculty of medical and nursing educators with a wealth of experience and knowledge in the field of adult nursing education, that will meet this specific need.

EN Course has been designed to pick up on and compliment the first 2 days of the EM Course, but can also be attended as a 1 day stand-alone course.
